What mouse do you have? How many DPI?

What mouse do you have? How many DPI? I think my mouse is a slow for bullet.
MacBook trackpad. It's not the best for bullet.
A TeckNet X9800, which is a cheap gaming mouse that can go up to a whopping 8200 DPI. It is true and I do not dispute, but I have NEVER used it above 4000 DPI and I'm very serious about my FPS games. In fact, it is effectively unusable after that point.

I say that as someone who has to reconfigure the computer every time a friend goes on it because other people find the mouse too sensitive! Not to mention my screen resolution is 2560x1400 px.

As a competent FPS gamer (esp. Killing Floor and Red Eclipse), I can safely say that getting a gaming mouse mat was by far and away a better investment than the gaming mouse. The gaming mouse made almost no difference at all, though the right-handed design is definitely more comfortable. The gaming mouse mat really did improve my accuracy, if not necessarily speed (though I'd say the two complement each other).

I wouldn't say DPI is anywhere near as important as accuracy. You can always bump up the sensitivity from the system if your mouse's DPI is too low.

More important in bullet chess is how fast you can make tricky chess decisions. I can do more than two moves a second if I want to, but they will be awful. GM Eric Hansen (chessbrahs) can also do that, but they will be very good moves because he has a much more advanced sense of intuition about the game and his position. It is not about speed, but about decisiveness. And no piece of gear can improve that, only chess practice will make you better.
Agreed. Sometimes a very thoughtful move that leads to a forced mate will cause your opponent to slow down much more than premoving a dozen weak moves. That being said, I use the Microsoft wheel mouse optical. It is 400 DPI (dots per inch), which is standard. Windows sensitivity is set in the middle. Usually if you have a choice, middle settings are best because extremes can lead to distortion. Someone correct me if this is no longer true.

You'll most likely want enhanced pointer precision unchecked. That's mouse acceleration, which means the faster you move the mouse the farther the pointer travels. This also happens with laser mice, which is why I'm using optical.

As for a high DPI, it can get so high that you'll move the mouse only a little bit and the pointer will jump multiple pixels on your monitor. This is a decrease in accuracy and precision. The 2000+ DPI mice are only gimmicks. The idea was to set the highest DPI on the mouse and lower the sensitivity in Windows. But, like I mentioned a very low setting in Windows can cause distortion. Just go with the standard mice of 10 years ago and you'll be good. No need to use a ball mouse though.

I have a laptop trackpad. I'm pretty sure I'd be better at bullet with a real mouse (I've almost beaten players > 2000 on several occasions, and lost on time by fractions of a second). As it is, I don't play much bullet. xD
I use a laptop trackpad. I sometimes lose on bullet by ~0.5 seconds and wish I invested in a mouse replacement for my previous broken one, but what can we do. I'm lazy.
