Hi Toni, You played against the tournament admin. who lives in Bandung (the place of Indonesia‘s main textile in the past). He seems to be a very friendly guy and tolerates my rusty Bahasa Indonesia with a good sense of humour.

Hi Team Mates,
My Third Round Game was against a 26-year old Serbian guy. I lost, not least because I focussed on driving him into time pressure instead of looking for the best moves. We analysed the game in a dedicated study for an hour or so. Never done this before. Absolutely fantastic.
Hope the tournament will now provide some weaker opponents in the lower section of the table ... - and I took quite some lessons away from the study!

Apparently there are no weaker opponents on offer, as my next game will be against Kurt Rohrer who sports a 1900 ELO on his profile page ... - that will be fun on Friday evening.
In round 4 I played against a strong player and nice guy who took his time just like me. That's the good thing about this tournament, that you meet serious chess players more often than usual. In the subsequent talk it turned out that we agreed on the assessment of the most positions - including my serious misjudgement in the endgame, which he therefore also had answered with a similar mistake. The logical result of this was a draw.

Another loss to our tally from my side ... - playing against Kurt Rohrer was never an easy task. Fought my back to a position very close to equality and then missed a mate in 2 with 40 minutes on the clock!
In Round 5 (a french exchange with me playing the white pieces) I didn't get a point this time. I was a bit too impatient against a very strong opponent, which cost me a pawn. The computer calls it an inaccuracy, but it was a stupid mistake, to be honest. It was no problem at all for my opponent to take advantage of that.

Another exchange going horribly wrong, again too fast, another loss!
