Canadian Parliament gives Nazi standing ovation - Al Jazeera

Haha. The idiot Anthony Rota apparently just invited Hunka without bothering to check who he was.

Hunka now likely will be extradited to Poland where he's wanted for war crimes.

Which crimes?
As I read the court after WW2 came to conclusion that SS Galychina did not take part in crimes against humanity.

Would not it be smarter to focus on modern russian nazi? Few of them are very famous in Europe now, they live comfortably and even write books about their participation in the war against Ukraine.

Funnily. those who were complaining that Trudeau was apologizing too easily have ask for it this time. And now they received it, it is still not right.

Hypocrisy when it's paying politically?!

Poland said they wanted him for war crimes, I don't know more than that. Wikipedia says his SS Division was "Formed in 1943, was mainly employed in the repression of Soviet, Polish[5] and Yugoslav guerrilla partisans.[6] "

So my guess is Poland wants him for stuff associated to the repression of Polish partisans.

We should do both and also are doing it.

Yeah it is hypocricy. I mean, it's Rota's fault and he got fired already.

It's also just a mistake. They didn't know he was a Nazi.

My guess, is that it might simply be them thinking it will bring them more votes.

I'm honestly mystified at the people that fin this genuinely upsetting. Its just a mistake. People need to chill out. So some people accidentally clapped for a nazi...what harm does that do honestly lol. It just seems like people are overreacting on both sides. The speaker didn't need to resign either lol...

But anyway, if you actually read the history of the guy, its true his unit was never actually convicted of engaging in any war crimes. So basically as far as anyone is concerned he was just part of another division of the German military, whose job was primarily engaging with the soviets on the Eastern flank. I even read one of his old blog posts, translated from Ukrainian. Basically he joined up because he thought it was his duty to fight back against the communists who he felt were destroying his country. Nothing about wanting to persecute the jews or anyone else. I can't say I blame him for thinking, especially as a young adult at the time, that the Germans were the good guys.

But people kind of simplistically think that if you are a nazi you are evil with no exception, but that's really kind of cartoonish view of reality. Anyway its something of a silly diversion. Canada still has to deal with its diplomatic crisis with India which is far more important.
