New training section feedback and wishes

Hi everyone!
First of all, THANK YOU LiChess for your efforts and service to us the community!

I'm a player in training (read: not very good at chess :-) and mostly use the training features of LiChess. Awesome help!

Having tried out the recent changes, I'd like to offer a feedback:

I too would like to vote for an option to toggle new/old interface, but actually just an option to not having to *repeat* all moves after an error would do!
Repeating is to me a waist of time and an annoying way to lose my focus.

Regarding the new way of serving the quizzes, I like a lot the idea of having more middle game tactics, but to me they are too abundant, now!
They appear to be the majority of quizzes, while the ones about 'final move' combination strategies, which I personally find more mentally challenging and overall useful, got pretty infrequent...

Don't care about ELO rating at the moment, so won't comment on that.

What do you guys think? Do you think it may be possible to further tune the section in this direction?

For now, have a wonderful day!
I think it looks cleaner but lacks some basic functionality that was there before

When I enter from the daily puzzle on the home page, there is no way for me to change puzzles short of using the 'give up' feature which is ridiculous

I also really like the training features of lichess, and use them a lot. Maybe we should wait until the finish all the changes they want to implement before speak out, but maybe we can give useful feedback now.

I do agree it would be pretty nice if the repetition of puzzles could be disabled with an options panel. The same with time, i would really like to be able to show the time im spending on solving the puzzle if i want to.

I also mentioned a while ago, a nice feature and that will also help in a lot of other things, it's the ability to put tags to puzzles, and the community would be the one in charge of putting those tags (or maybe some predetermined tags or categories), and voting up and down accordingly. Anyway, they said they want to implement categories, so, im going to wait until that's implemented on the site before saying something.

Opening and endgame training would be really nice too, but maybe we are asking for too much =P.
Muscle training one tactic at a time and getting rated for that category seems to be a good thing. Imagine a player being specialized in tactical forks with a rating of 2200, but not as much in discovered attacks with a rating of 2000. Obvious they can then try to practice more discovered attacks. A tactical overall rating could be visible like a classical rating, but not the specific tactical weakness ratings. That specific info should only be visible in the chess insight profile.
Oh, I didn't know the changes were still going on.
This is fantastic, it really shows how much LiChess cares for us (and chess!).

Yes, tags/categories would be very nice, this way we could probably manage ourselves the choice of which area of strategy and tactics to train on.

Also, as a remotely useful idea surely last on the priority list, may be the bookmarking of personal favorite quizzes.

Again, thank you being there, LiChess!
These are all great ideas. I sure hope they fix the training soon. Until they do I'm seeking a new place for puzzles. Lichess was my favorite by far.
I don`t have strong opinions about the new training section. I am enjoying it more than before though. All ideas here are cool, this kind of thing can be improved in so many ways.

The only minor annoyance to me is when the initial position is great, but the computer reply is awful. Would be nice if I could rate in more than just thumbs up/down.
I am very confused about the new training section, because so many features have been removed and at beginning I thought it was an issue of my browser (!) : I can't select my level (hard/normal/easy) anymore, I can't easily "continue from here" anymore (it takes much more steps now, I have to go to analysis, then to board editor, etc). If I fail a puzzle, then I can try it again but if I fail it again, I can't just try another move, I have to restart again...

Also, the very first days I had some puzzles two times in a row and the score was added twice to my ranking, that's why I though it was just a bug of the s/w...

Is it going to remain as it is? It looks like a huge step back, and I can't see any improvement anyway.
I'm an avid user of the training section as well, and I have to say I preferred it much better before: I miss the Easy, Normal and Hard feature plus every time I fail a puzzle and want to retry it I need to go through a very redundant process. I see the improvement in the GUI as well, but operation wise was much better before :) Thanks for making all this possible though, Lichess is GREAT
"plus every time I fail a puzzle and want to retry it I need to go through a very redundant process"

Absolutely this. There are things to like about the new tactics trainer, but having to click "retry this puzzle" more than once on a single puzzle is completely unnecessary and adds extra clicks for no reason.

Would be wonderful if the Retry option was reverted back to the way it was before.
