Forum Improvement

The forum is a bit chaotic. I'm not knocking it entirely, there is certainly a bit of 'bohemian' quality about it. However - certainly in this category, the 'Feedback Forum', it doesn't help that the most recurring topics aren't highlighted. There are themes that come up up repeatedly (etiquette for instance) but it sometimes look like the thread OP isn't aware that the subject has been discussed before.
What about making up sub divisions of the 4 main discussion areas? Failing that, a separate, 5th division of recurring themes, even if they're just pointers to the most discussed/ contentious threads in the other 4 divisions?
I've always thought that the minimalism of the forum is good, because it helps draw attention away from it, and towards actual chess, and the development of the chess-playing portion of the site. That said, this still sounds like a good idea.

What categories would you propose be created?
Well, etiquette for one, under general discussion. Though I suppose even that would have to be split between the rules that we observe on Lichess and general banter about what's good sportsmanship.
The feedback forum might be split up into stockfish/ engine /coding, another might be interface or appearance.
In trying to decide what categories are created under the headers, I'm trying to remember the most recurring themes and how I would categorise them. Maybe that is all that's needed - a fifth topic that just points towards the recurring themes...
You know the Q&A Page?

The feedback forum should be similar to that: with tags, with up votes, with comments and with full "answers"/"responses". Imo.
I like that idea, Chess Agent.

I think, as stated before, the minimalism of the forum is a strength. It is pleasant to have a community on this site, a social element is always pleasing. However, on many other sites the forum may get overwhelming. For example, a visible "post count" or "karma count" may be there, which I feel detracts from the conversation and treating everybody as equals.

However, for the feedback forum there are a number of topics which recur, so perhaps these mainstays could be "stickied" with an upvote/downvote function; more than 500 votes or so, and they auto-sticky, only to go once dealt with. Perhaps this is a bit akin to reddit, but it could be utilitarian for the feedback section of the forum.

I feel like we should also have a specific foreign language part of the forum (particularly Russian and Arabic), which is something none of our competitors has, if I am correct. I do not want to segregate the forum, but I do think it could help foster growth amongst our non-English speaking brethren.
